Compliance & Importance

Whether you are a Guardian or one of our clients, we take the protection of your personal data extremely seriously and are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into effect in May 2018.

What is GDPR?

GDPR is a legal framework that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the European Union (EU), taking into account the challenges of a rapidly evolving digital world and the increased privacy risks this brings for data subjects.

Ad Hoc is very passionate about its obligations to GDPR, including the requirement that any personal data we use and process must be collected for a specified and legitimate purpose, must be accurate and kept up to date, and we must maintain the security of your personal data, ensuring it is robustly protected against unauthorised access an accidental loss.

We are continually looking at ways to further enhance our quality standards, which is why we are also members of the Property Guardian Providers Association (PGPA), the sector’s first trade association to lead on safety and standards, to represent and promote the industry, and to foster best practice. It’s also been created to formulate policies that help ensure its members are at the forefront of meeting or exceeding their legal and safety standards.

Know your rights

GDPR enables you to regain control over your own information. You have the exclusive right to revoke information from any company, as long as other legislations are being adhered to. You also have the right to make a complaint with the data protection authority in the UK, which is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
